No, agricultural subsidies haven't lowered food prices: because so many of them are in fact not direct subsidies, but indirect, which raise food prices. What we actually need is industrial farming to reach Africa: as it has Brazil to such good effect. Now we know the reason that Mayor Boris is not going to do away with the "London Embassies". What you can find out about a country by the presence or not of a shoe shine stand. Do we really still have to explain to people the difference between a blogger and a journalist?
