Can hatred (or perhaps mistrust) of the profit motive really stop us from moving to better structures?

Odd fact of the day: the maker of toy cars is now worth more than the maker of real ones.

Odder fact of the day, that the man who came up with this idea is a professional academic.

While this is about the US, it does neatly describe some people's beliefs about the NHS.

The implication of this new research, that changing climate only affects poor countries, is clearly that we should make sure that there are no poor countries by the time the projected climate change happens. Fortunately, the IPCC's research into such climate change explains exactly how to do that.

Quite why anyone is getting upset about Uma Thurman smoking in Pulp Fiction is unknown, given all of the other things that happen in the movie.

And finally, an appalling attack upon Parliament.

The real problem is not Climate Change but CC policy-carbon control and all that Jazz. Ineffective Kyoto contributes to gross alarm over fossil fuel,as intended, and escalation of oil price. This hurts poor everywhere and destabilises the economies of Rich Countries. the future of world trade and Global Growth

Climate changes only in that it never changes. Long and short cycles repeat. IPCC define CC as only that variability caused by man [in effect carbon emission] This begs the question.

Eschew hypothesis and manipulated models and consider facts. Satellites show no warming. Several series of surface measures are averaged by unexplained weights show warming of about half a degree in 20 C. and none since 1998. Any warming is not unprecedented. Any contribution to warming by mans carbon emission is too small to separate from other GHG effects even if AGW theory is robust. Any reversion to 20 C warming is preferable to cooling expected by some and considered overdue by the sun cycle scientists.

Global warming alarm and resulting policy must rival the great scams of history.
