Adam Smith on stage

While I was up in Edinburgh for the unveiling of the Adam Smith Statue, I met a group of people who were working on a rather interesting play for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It was called Adam Smith – Making Poverty History, a docudrama about the great man's life, ideas and achievements, written by Wallace Allen Shaw.

By all accounts, it proved a successful endeavour. Their four shows were attended by almost six hundred people, and received a number of positive reviews – such as this one on fringereview.co.uk. Our Adam Smith Fellow, Gavin Kennedy, has his own write-up here.

The cast and crew deserve many congratulations for all their hard work in bringing Adam Smith to life in a theatrical setting. If you would like to get your hands on a copy of the play, it's available here on livingphilosophy.org.uk.
