Schools across the UK have been shut for months in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The fallout has been immense, with furious protests at the Government’s initial decision to use an algorithm in determining A-Level results rather than typical examinations.
While some pupils were able to access online alternatives to their normal lessons, others were left with little access to education. Across the pond, parents and teachers have started ‘pandemic pods’ and other innovative alternatives to the traditional classroom environment with potential ramifications for the UK.
Now, children returning to school in September will have to wear masks in communal areas if they are in an area facing local lockdown. Schools in other areas retain discretion about mask requirements and those in the education sector are having a lively debate about where the balance should be struck.
In this webinar, we’re delighted to be joined by three prominent education experts to discuss how Covid-19 has affected schooling and what changes to education policy might be appropriate in the wake of the pandemic.
