Freedom's Fighters with the Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP

  • Adam Smith Institute 23 Great Smith Street London (map)

The Adam Smith Institute is honoured to welcome the Rt Hon Sir John Redwood MP for our September Freedom’s Fighters session. Sir John has been the Member of Parliament for Wokingham since 1987 and has held various ministerial and cabinet positions, both as a member of Government and the Opposition. He was knighted in the 2019 New Year Honours for political and public service.

Sir John is a frequent commentator in the media, author, and writes daily for his blog John Redwood’s Diary. His most recent book, We Don’t Believe You: why populists reject the establishment, gives fresh insight into the rise of populist movements across the world.

As a stalwart conservative devoted to politics, we are looking forward to hearing more about his life and work.

Doors at the Adam Smith Institute open at 6pm, with drinks until 6.30pm when Adam Smith Institute President, Dr Pirie and John Redwood will begin the interview, finishing at 7pm. While there is no formal Q&A there is an opportunity to ask questions after the event. Carriages at 7.30pm.

Freedom’s Fighters are one of our smaller events, with just 24 guests. If you would like to RSVP, please do so by emailing events@adamsmith.org.

If you aren’t able to attend, we’ll be filming the event and publishing these on our Facebook and YouTube pages. Previous talks with Lord Nigel Lawson, Daniel Hannan MEP, Guido Fawkes founder Paul Staines, economist Ruth Lea, and the IEA’s Mark Littlewood are all available to view.
