The Budget: Best or Bust for Britain?

Click here to register for this Adam Smith Institute event

With the March Budget announcement, Chancellor Rishi Sunak has set out the Government’s post pandemic economic strategy. But what is the verdict? Has the Chancellor deftly threaded the needle, charting a course between tax hikes, support for struggling industries and laying the foundations for a return to growth? Or will the tax burden, set to reach its highest in 70 years, diminish the UK status as a competitive market economy? Can the Government succeed in driving growth from the centre, with plans to pick winners with National Investment Bank, and will the newly announced Freeports level up the left behind?

Join us on 9th March at 6pm GMT to discuss. Our expert panel includes leading business professionals ready to give their thoughts on the future of the British economy.

The panel:

John Macdonald - Head of Government Affairs, ASI (Host)
Kate Nicholls - CEO, UKHospitality
Lance Forman - Owner, H Forman & Son
Dan Mobley - Corporate Relations Director, Diageo
